Inferno questions

Just wondering what happened here.  When I checked this morning it said I had reached a new inferno level.  Currently my game level is showing 7.  Does each new inferno tier reset your game level.  I'm still grouped with 2 200 level guys.  Tried refreshing but no luck changing anything.

You started gaining inferno levels.

ok so the guys I'm grouped with at 207 are inferno level 7. and I show up as 207. that makes sense now. thanks
