Ascension Point Currency

I would like to ask how are Ascensions points calculated? You gain 1 ascension point per x maps? Or x points per planet? Or?

I invested 1 ascension point to Auto damage +5%, but seems that my auto damage has not change (even after restart).

New relog should resolve it. The damage boosts for click/auto from ascension upgrades were only activating at incorrect times. Thanks
