Does the 250k Wood Upgrades worth?

I'd be interesting to hear if you ever make that worthwhile... seems like it wouldn't work to me, but I never did the math or anything.

I'm pretty happy I got the 250K upgrade, and I have the orb at 2 star... so I'm geting 79/158 per chop. I figure I'll upgrade the mine until the levels get to cost around 250K, then save for the 500K upgrade.
