I have no current intention of adding a friends list right now. That is subject to change, but when guild capacities and so forth are added, I think communicating in the dev chat room, or other means (facebook, 3rd party chat rooms, skype, etc) will do.

The reason for this is the technical side of a friends list, will require more development time than most might think. It's not out of the question, just not in any immediate agenda.
