Currently I have paid the 250 diamonds for 2X card bonus and with the event its 4X, but I'm wondering if I purchase the 250 diamond 2X bonus again if it'll be 6X or if it'll just extend the amount of time I have the bonus?

Yeah, you can have up to two 2x-card bonus times running back to back.
