Ray once said he gonna Re-vamp this system by add more benefits for short-expedition , but i guess he too busy to remember this XD

If you notice, gold gives 3 per 2 hours where as diamonds give 5 for 4, that's the basis all of the other timers are built off of. Getting gold rewards you more expedition points, but gives you less useful bounties. I think the best expedition to do depends on a few factors.
