I just took part in a Group challenge for Rats gold. The final boss was very close, but we did not beat it.
Nonetheless I got the reward popup with Gold, ap and diamonds for it. Then the "challenge failed" popup came.
The challenge overview lists the challenge as completed as well.
However I did not get the base damage reward(neither the popup, nor the damage)

Additional note: I had the impression someone used Time Freeze ability right before the time was over

That's happened before when it's been super close to win/fail. I think though if you know you've failed it,lol you need to try it again to get the rewards. If you do it again and win for sure and don't get the rewards, then I'd suggest reporting a bug.

That's happened to me 3 times.... the games gives you a bit (a second or two) after the clock expires before it brings you back to the regular areas. I think what happens is if the last hit happens after the clock goes to 0.00 but before you leave, it gives you the check mark, and the rewards, but not the completion bonus.

If you go do it again, and finish, you'll get the completion bonus.
