I enjoyed being able to try crazy specs to see how much it helps, as well as flipping around slight tweaks to better fit my style. While liberating, either a credit system (so I can stock up respecs as needed to use later sometime) or restricting it "free reset during this event" (while being semi-rare) ie: next time we see it with an event is in halloween or holiday season.
Credit system is a great way to make it more fair. Though I do like the "free for a certain amount of time" nature of it as well so you can truly experiment whatever you want. Timer based similar to the card drops could be good... Perhaps the 5-day could be a 12 or 24 hr thing that kicks in upon "using" the credit/w.e
