The back button shuts the game completely down, it would appear.
I can run the game for a while in the background and come back into the game as long as I don't use the back button to exit the game. Once I hit the back button, no matter how I try to go back into the game (task switcher or tapping the app icon) the application has restarted and I have to log back in.
This could have been, at least in part, the trouble I ran into a few days ago when I posted my Initial Feedback. The OS will still unload the game when RAM and the process list start getting crowded, but I think the back button may have made me more aware of the game seeming to restart randomly. I was, however, able to keep the game running all last night without an issue.
