I think this can wait till later into the development of the game. From my experience with spreadsheets there is an override to just type in card damage.

Well it's not like we are rushing him to do this, it's just a suggestion! Ray has his long-ass to-do list that we all know about.
Also about the sheet, Ven meant to help keep track of cards, not for the damage. Some people have personal card sheets where all the members of the party put their card inputs so that they can optimally increase damages based on each area for everyone.
