I can be on 24/7 farming but I usually shut my computer down during night time. I am in California USA.
During business hours, I check every 30 mins or so, so while I am online I am not always at my keyboard. I was kicked from my last guild for "inactivity" but I feel like I was one of the top donators, dropping about 20k+ stone every day.
